SOUTH DAKOTA STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF PSYCHOLOGISTS
Teleconference Board Meeting on March 24, 2005
Members Present: Gunn, Langenfeld, Magnavito, Pankratz, and Woldt
Members Absent: None
Others Present: Carol Tellinghuisen, Jill Lesselyoung, Paula Spargur, and Jeffrey Tronvold.
1. Meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m. Central Standard Time.
2. Pankratz made a motion to accept minutes of
Board Meeting on December 6, 2004. Motion was
seconded by
Woldt and approved by unanimous vote.
3. Langenfeld made a motion to accept the financial
report for month ending February 5, 2005.
Motion was
seconded by Woldt and approved by unanimous vote.
4. Woldt made a motion to accept administrative
services consultant contract between Carol Tellinghuisen and
the South
Dakota Board of Examiners of Psychologists, to include a $200 per month increase
from previous
contract.
Motion was seconded by Pankratz and approved by unanimous vote.
5. Langenfeld made a motion to enter executive
session. Motion was seconded by Gunn and carried.
Board entered
executive session at 9:28 a.m.
6. Gunn reported on C-176. Langenfeld reported on
C-177. Magnavito reported on C-167, C-168,
C-169, C-170,
C-171, C-174, and C-175.
7. Woldt made a motion to exit executive session.
Motion was seconded by Langenfeld and carried.
Board
exited executive session at 11:06 a.m.
8. Magnavito recommended dismissing C-167 on the grounds of lack of substantive evidence to support the allegations. Gunn made a motion to dismiss C-167. Motion was seconded by Pankratz and approved by unanimous vote.
9. Magnavito recommended and Woldt moved to dismiss complaint C-169 with the condition of a signed stipulation and the Board issuing a public letter of reprimand. Motion was seconded by Pankratz and approved by unanimous vote.
10. Woldt made a motion to accept Dr. Magnavito’s recommendation that licensee on C-171 complete remedial education in the use of the MMPI and DSM-IV. Motion was seconded by Langenfeld and carried by roll call, with Dr. Gunn abstaining.
11. Langenfeld made a motion to approve workshops identified by licensee on C-171 to fulfill board requirements. Motion was seconded by Pankratz and carried by roll call, with Dr. Gunn abstaining.
12. Gunn made a motion to dismiss C-175 due to lack
of substantive evidence in support of the allegations.
Motion
was seconded by Woldt and carried by roll call vote.
13. Board discussed psychopharmacology licensure issue.
14. Board discussed course work requirements in relation to Applicant 253.
15. Board set next board meeting for June 16 and 17 in Pierre, South Dakota.
16. Langenfeld made a motion to adjourn. Motion was
seconded by Pankratz and carried. Meeting adjourned
at
11:49 p.m.
