SOUTH DAKOTA STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS OF PSYCHOLOGISTS

Revised Minutes of the Board Meeting On September 23, 2004

Holiday Inn Express in Deadwood, SD

 

 

 

Members Present:  Gunn, Langenfeld, Magnavito, Pankratz, and Woldt

Members Absent:  None

Others Present:  Carol Tellinghuisen and Jill Lesselyoung

 

 

1.  Meeting was called to order at 1:14 p.m. Mountain Daylight time.

 

2.  Pankratz made a motion to approve minutes from meeting held on May 20, 2004.

     Motion was seconded by Gunn and carried.

 

3.  Gunn made a motion to accept the financial report for month ending August 27,

     2004.  Motion was seconded by Woldt and carried.

 

4.  Pankratz made a motion to move into executive session.  Motion was seconded by

     Gunn and Board moved into executive session at 1:46 p.m.

 

5.  Langenfeld reported on C-173.

 

6.  Magnavito reported on C-167, C-168, C-169, C-170, and C-171.

 

7.  Woldt made a motion to exit executive session.  Motion was seconded by Pankratz

     and carried.  Board exited executive session at 3:18 p.m. 

 

8.  Langenfeld made a motion for board to contact States Attorney’s Office relative to a

     complaint received by the board regarding Bill H. Arbes presenting himself as a

     psychologist and pursuant to South Dakota Law 36-27A-10 and 36-27A-33.

 

9.  Board discussed issue of retention of raw data of psychological tests.

 

10. Langenfeld made a motion to increase the contract by $400.00 to cover the cost of

      liability insurance for the Board’s Executive Secretary.  Motion was seconded

      by Pankratz and carried.    

 

11. Board tentatively set next meeting for December 7th and 8th in Sioux Falls, South

      Dakota.     

 

12. Gunn made a motion to enter executive session.  Motion was seconded by Pankratz

      and carried.  Board entered executive session at 4:04 p.m. to hear oral examinations.

 

13. Pankratz made a motion to exit executive session.  Motion was seconded by Woldt

      and carried.  Board exited executive session at 5:56 p.m.

 

14. Gunn made a motion to grant licensure to A-244 and A-247 on the basis of having

      received a passing score on the oral examination.  Motion was seconded

      by Pankratz and approved by unanimous vote.

 

15. Woldt made a motion to adjourn meeting.  Motion was seconded by Langenfeld and

      carried.  Meeting adjourned at 6:04 p.m.

 

16. Meeting reconvened on September 24, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight time.

 

17. Pankratz made a motion to enter executive session.  Motion was seconded by Woldt

      and carried.  Board entered executive session at 8:09 a.m. to hear oral examination.

 

18. Langenfeld made a motion to exit executive session.  Motion was seconded by

     Woldt and carried.  Board exited executive session at 10:38 a.m. 

 

19. Gunn made a motion to approve licensure for A-248 on the basis of having received a

      passing score on the oral examination.  Motion was seconded by Pankratz and

      approved by unanimous vote.

 

20. Gunn made a motion to deny licensure to A-251 on the basis of having failed to

      receive a passing score on the oral examination.  Motion was seconded by Woldt

      and approved by unanimous vote. 

 

21. Pankratz made a motion to adjourn meeting.  Motion was seconded by Langenfeld

      and carried.  Board meeting adjourned at 10:45 a.m.
