Diabetic Education Program

The Diabetic Education Program assists individuals who are experiencing both diabetes and vision loss. The statewide program assists these individuals in seeking or maintaining employment and in maintaining or developing their independence.

Eligibility Requirements:
Services are available to individuals who are eligible consumers of the SBVI Independent Living and Vocational Rehabilitation Programs

Services Available:
Training in the use of assistive devices and alternative techniques to manage diabetes. Additional services include consultation, in-service, and referral to other medical professionals as needed.
