SOUTH DAKOTA NEWS TELEPHONE READER
The Division of Service to the Blind and Visually Impaired in collaboration with other state agencies and
private organizations is proud to sponsor the SD News Telephone Reader, an automated dial up newspaper
reading service for people with disabilities who are not able to read the print version of the newspaper.

This service is available at no cost to the consumer with the exception of long distance telephone fees if the
toll free number is not used.
The collaborating agencies and organizations are:

- The Rapid City Journal
- The Sioux Falls Argus Leader
- The Aberdeen American News
- The National Federation of the Blind of South Dakota
- The South Dakota Association of the Blind
To try a demonstration of the service, you can call (605) 394-6873 in Rapid City, or in the Sioux Falls area,
(605) 367-7077. Once the service answers, you can punch in the demonstration code of 5555 you will then have
up to six (6), minutes to play with the system.
