Course Description: Through group work and discussion participants develop an understanding of what constitutes abuse, neglect, exploitation and mistreatment of persons receiving services in accordance with state and federal authorities.

Course Objectives:

Participants will:

• Learn to identify the different types of abuse, neglect, exploitation or mistreatment

• Learn to recognize the warning signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation or mistreatment

• Understand what to do if abuse, neglect, exploitation or mistreatment is witnessed, discovered or suspected

• Understand the importance of reporting abuse, neglect, exploitation or mistreatment

• Understand the importance of good documentation to prevent abuse, neglect ,exploitation or mistreatment

Understand how to report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation or mistreatment
