Course Description:
The course introduces People First Language. Exercises and discussions focus on how assumptions about people with disabilities can influence how we treat them and the importance of language in forming assumptions. This course covers the definitions of a developmental disability and a cognitive disability. It discusses what is required for an individual to be admitted to an ICF/IID and what services SDDC provides.
