council on quality & leadership

The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) is a leader in working with human service organizations and systems, to continuously define, measure and improve quality of life and quality of services.  CQL assists communities, systems and organizations to help people discover and define their own quality of life, measure personal quality of life for individuals, organizations and systems and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and the people, organizations and communities that support them.

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) partners with CQL to accredit all South Dakota providers certified by DDD.  Each Community Support Provider and Case Management Provider must achieve and maintain Person-centered Excellence Accreditation through the CQL. The DDD monitors the provider's compliance of this requirement to maintain certification. For more information about DDD's partnership with CQL, please call 605-773-3438 or email at infodd@state.sd.us .
