Governor Proclaims October 15 White Cane Day
Governor Kristi Noem has proclaimed this Saturday, Oct. 15, as White Cane Day in South Dakota. The white cane with the red band around the bottom is used to identify a person who is blind or visually impaired in all 50 states and most countries around the world. White Cane Day celebrates the independence of those who are blind or visually impaired and educates drivers on white cane laws.
